A New Team is Joining the Pac-10 - U.S. Bank

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Sep 24, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bank is proud to announce that it has been named the official bank of the Pacific-10 Conference. This three-year partnership between U. S. Bank and the Pac-10, also known as the "Conference of Champions," will provide the bank with national and regional media exposure and the opportunity to be associated with one of the premier collegiate athletic conferences in the nation.

Jerry A. Grundhofer, chairman, president and chief executive officer of U.S. Bancorp, the parent company of U.S. Bank, commented, "This is very exciting news to be joining with one of the elite academic and athletic conferences in the country. At U.S. Bank we have more than 700 of our 2,344 full-service branches located in Pac-10 country in the states of Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington. In recognition of U.S. Bank becoming the official bank of the Pac-10 employees in the offices located in the four states will sport Pac-10 shirts and there will be customer drawings for prizes and a plethora of signage, inside and out, marking the big event.

As part of the agreement, U.S. Bank will be highly visible on Fox Sport Net's Pac-10 "Games of the Week" during the football season and regular season men's basketball games. During the football season U.S. Bank will sponsor both the offensive and defensive player of the week awards. As the official bank, U.S. Bank will be involved with the weekly TV magazine show "Runnin' with the Pac" during the football and basketball seasons.

U.S. Bank's involvement with the Pac-10 will include involvement with both men's and women's athletic events. In addition to football and basketball, U.S. Bank will be supporting other Pac-10 sporting events including women's volleyball, cross country, softball, baseball, swimming and diving, wrestling, golf, gymnastics, track and field, tennis and rowing. U.S. Bank will also participate in special on-campus events such as flag football games and three-on-three basketball shootout events to create additional awareness with students and fans regarding the bank teaming up with the Pac-10.
