organizations were recently awarded more than $174,000 in grants by
the U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB) Foundation. Mark Smith, president of U.S.
Bank in Denver, announced the affordable housing, artistic and
cultural enrichment, economic development and education grants.

training programs that help people move toward self-sufficiency;

Colorado Grants Guide and the Colorado Nonprofit Leadership and
Management program and statewide workshop;
-- Goodwill Industries - to help support its School to Work programs
for at risk youth;
-- Urban League of Metro Denver - to assist with funding its
employment and education programs; and
-- Work Options for Women - to support its culinary training programs
that help women move toward self-sufficiency.
Education:
-- Adams 14 Education Foundation - to support its educational
programs;
-- Denver Area Council, Boy Scouts of America - for its inner city,
neighborhood-based urban scouting program;
-- Junior Achievement - to help its economic education programs;
-- Metro State College of Denver - to support its Arts Builds
Communities program, providing arts education in housing authority
developments;
-- Public Education and Business Coalition - to enhance teaching and
learning work in public schools in Colorado;
-- Summer Scholars - to support its education programs for Northeast
Denver youth; and
