U.S. Bank to Open New Branch Locations inside Smith's Food & Drug Stores Starting March 29

SALT LAKE CITY, Mar 26, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB)

U.S. Bank will open 15 in-store branches inside Smith's Food & Drug stores this spring. Ten of the branches will open on Monday, March 29 and the remaining will open in April.

A grand opening celebration will take place on March 29 at the ten branches which open that day. U.S. Bank customers and non-customers can enter to win four tickets to the final Utah Jazz home game on April 14. One name will be drawn at each branch (see on-site entry form for rules). Smith's gift cards will also be awarded to people who open new U.S. Bank accounts or request an investment/insurance profile, a financial consultation or open a home equity loan or line. There will also be scratch-and-win prize giveaways all day, with every card a winner. Prizes include one percent loan rate reduction, canvas bags, coupon holders and more.

    The following in-store branches will open on March 29:

    --  156 South Main Street, Brigham City;

    --  600 South Main Street, Cedar City;

    --  212 East 12300 South, Draper;

    --  550 North Main Street, Heber City;

    --  1485 Harrison Blvd., Ogden;

    --  350 North Freedom Boulevard, Provo;

    --  4065 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City;

    --  1634 West South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan;

    --  2353 North Main Street, Sunset; and

    --  2399 South Main, Woods Cross.

    The following in-store branches will open in April:

    --  665 West 5300 South, Murray;

    --  4275 Harrison Blvd., Ogden;

    --  632 South 100 West, Payson;

    --  210 East 700 South, Pleasant Grove; and

    --  951 West 1700 South, Syracuse.

The new U.S. Bank locations inside Smith's will be open six-days-a-week, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. U.S. Bank branches will be replacing Zions Bank branches at those locations. U.S. Bank is the third-largest in-store branch-banking network in the United States.

Currently, U.S. Bank has 90 ATMs in Utah, 27 traditional branches in Utah, including one at C.R. England in Salt Lake City, one in Park City, three in southern Utah, and three in-store branches inside SuperTarget stores in the Salt Lake City metro. The 15 new branches will extend U.S. Bank's presence in Utah to 42 full-service branches and 105 ATMs, providing customers with the third largest banking network in the state.
