LOS ANGELES, Mar 23, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bank has provided financing
to the Los Angeles Mission, Inc., a privately funded, nonprofit charity
established to serve the immediate and long-term needs of the homeless. New
banking services include a commercial real estate loan, a line of credit and
deposit and treasury management services.
The Los Angeles Mission was founded in 1936 with the objective of providing hope
and opportunity for destitute men, women and children. Its four principal areas
of care include a community clinic, an education center, a homeless shelter and
a center for battered women.
What began as a small rescue mission, the Los Angeles Mission is now among the
nation's largest service providers to the homeless. It is supported by gifts
from the private sector and depends completely on generous individuals,
foundations, corporations and churches for its support.
"Our support of the Mission extends beyond a banking relationship," said William
Cave, senior vice president and manager of U.S. Bank Commercial Banking in
Ontario, Calif. "As a company that's growing in California, U.S. Bank is deeply
committed to giving back to community organizations throughout the state."
U.S. Bank employees throughout Southern California will be donating personal
care items for the benefit of the Los Angeles Mission at a company event on
April 20.
