PORTLAND, Ore., Mar 10, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bank is lending a little
extra fuel to the Great Food Drive this month by designating its nearly 200
branch offices as official drop sites for contributions to the Oregon Food Bank.
Organizers hope to collect more than one million pounds of food for this year's
drive, which lasts through March 31. It is purposefully timed after the holiday
season, when supplies tend to dwindle.
"We're proud to partner with KGW Channel 8 and Albertsons to bring attention to
the root causes of hunger and work towards a solution so that no one goes
hungry," said Mike Michael, president of U.S. Bank in Oregon.
KGW will broadcast live from the U.S. Bank Fisher's Landing branch at 16415 SE
McGillivray Boulevard in Vacouver, Wash. on March 13 and from the U.S. Bank
Sherwood branch (inside Albertsons) at 16030 SW Tualatin Sherwood Drive in
Sherwood, Ore. on March 20.
All money and food raised stays in the community in which it was donated.
