U.S. Bank Receives 2003 Award of Merit from Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mar 10, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bank has received the "2003 Award of Merit" from the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis. The award was presented to U.S. Bank recently for its outstanding work in community development and outreach.

Myers, senior vice president and regional manager for U.S. Bank in St. Louis. "When every person has equal life chances, we are all better off.     --  Actively participating in the St. Louis Tax Assistance Program
        -- in 2003, volunteers served nearly 1,300 families by
        generating refunds of more than $1.7 million;

    --  Organizing and teaching a three-part financial educational
        session for eighth grade students from low to moderate-income
        middle schools;

    --  Participating in the Coalition for Reputable Lending to help
        combat the effects of predatory lending by providing community
        outreach, education, legal services and loan products to
        vulnerable consumers of mortgages; and

    --  Contributing to the Gateway to Financial Fitness initiative,
        which provides financial literacy training for customers of
        nonprofits that assist low to moderate-income individuals and
        families.
