Everything's Coming up Roses for Five U.S. Bank Customers and Two Employees; One Customer $25,000 Richer; Six Win Trip to Rose Bowl Game and Ride Atop U.S. Bank Float in Rose Parade

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec 11, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB)

One lucky U.S. Bank customer is $25,000 richer while four customers and two employees will experience the opportunity of a lifetime when they see the Rose Bowl Game(R) and ride atop the U.S. Bank float in the Rose Parade(R) on New Year's Day, courtesy of U.S. Bank's Comin' Up Roses ATM Sweepstakes.

The winner of the grand prize of $25,000 in cash is Elvin Belew of Lawrenceburg, Ind. Belew filled out an entry form at his local U.S. Bank branch in Lawrenceburg.

The winners of a trip to the Rose Bowl Game and the Rose Parade are: U.S. Bank customers Keith Backer, New Rockford, N.D.; Bob Johnson, Aloha, Ore.; Pamela Dedrick, Bloomington, Minn.; and Jason Skinnor, Columbus, Ohio.

U.S. Bank employees B'Ann Dittmar, Galena, Ill. and Marlene Kukla, Milwaukee, Wis., will also see the Rose Bowl Game and will participate in the Rose Parade for winning the "Service in Bloom" quiz contest open to all U.S. Bank branch employees.

The winners and their guest are packing their bags and will be heading to Pasadena, Calif., for the trip of a lifetime which includes round-trip air transportation, hotel accommodations for four nights, tickets to the Rose Bowl Game and $1,300 spending money. The winners and their guest will ride atop the U.S. Bank float in the Rose Parade.

The U.S. Bank float salutes the diverse, vibrant and powerful music of the United States. Titled "Music of the U.S.," the U.S. Bank float is comprised of five beautifully designed, decorated units and is the largest float in this festive, nationally recognized parade. Each unit showcases a form of music that has shaped America's rich heritage. Float designer Fiesta Parade Floats incorporated a dazzling variety of regionally popular flowers and foliage.

The Rose Parade will take place on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. CST. The U.S. Bank float will be the 13th float in the parade. The parade will be televised on ABC, NBC, CBS and cable. Following the Rose Parade, the Rose Bowl Game will feature the University of Michigan vs. the University of Southern California at 4:00 p.m. CST on ABC.

The Sweepstakes took place from Sept. 22, 2003 until Nov. 7, 2003. All U.S. Bank branches in the bank's 24-state footprint participated. To enter, U.S. Bank customers had to fill out an entry form at a U.S. Bank branch, or the form on the back of their ATM receipt from a U.S. Bank branch ATM, or mail in a completed entry form. More than 200,000 entries were received. The winners were selected via a random drawing.
