U.S. Bank is the third-largest in-store branch banking network in the United States. This expansion gives U.S. Bank 281 in-store locations in 19 states.

"There are natural synergies between a grocery store and a bank. Our partnership with Publix is a great way to reach out to busy people who like the convenience of one-stop shopping," said Tony Heard, regional chairman of U.S. Bank in Nashville. "Research shows that consumers bank 2.4 times per week and shop 2.6 times per week, making shopping and banking in one trip more convenient. For 140 years, U.S. Bank has placed a major emphasis on quality service and personal attention to its customers. These are traits that are shared by Publix, which also incorporates customer driven strategies into its day-to-day operations."

U.S. Bank is home of the exclusive Five Star Service Guarantee, which assures customers of certain key banking benefits. If for any reason U.S. Bank fails to deliver on its guarantee it will pay the customer, in addition to making the situation right.

"We are proud to team with another organization that shares our commitment to the customer and service," noted Brenda Reid, spokesperson for Publix. "Publix is known for its philosophy of pleasing the customer and our guarantee to never knowingly disappoint our customer is legendary in the industry."

The new U.S. Bank locations inside Publix will offer a full range of services and will be open seven-days-a-week. In addition to opening checking accounts, customers can conveniently transact business on savings, CDs, IRAs and other investment opportunities, or get a loan for a car, boat, home improvement or debt consolidation. Each location will also have a full-service ATM.

Publix, a company of more than 120,000 associates in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee, was founded by George W. Jenkins in 1930 in Winter Haven, Florida.
