Ten San Diego area organizations recently received grants from U.S. Bank through
the U.S. Bancorp Foundation. The grants were made in the Arts and Culture
funding category. Arts and Culture grants are given to organizations that build
audiences for the arts especially among underserved populations, bring select
and limited civic amenities to underserved, rural communities, and promote the
arts in education.
The artistic and cultural enrichment grants totaled $73,000. Operating support
grants were awarded to City Ballet, Mingei International Museum, San Diego
Institute for Art Education, the Vista Foundation/Moonlight Amphitheater, and
the San Diego Opera. Program grants were awarded to the North Coast Repertory
Theatre to support the Theatre School outreach education program, San Diego
Museum of Art's Artist in Residence Program, San Diego Natural History Museum's
K-12 audience development program, the San Diego Symphony "The Next Movement"
educational outreach program, and the Young People's Education Programs at The
