CINCINNATI, Apr 9, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- On Thursday, April 10, Sonia Blasiak, an investment management associate for U.S. Bank at 425 Walnut Street, will start students at Heberle School, 2015 Fremn Avenue on the path to a positive financial future by participating in the seventh annual National Teach Children to Save Day, a nationwide event to teach kids their financial ABCs.

"While many of today's kids are computer savvy, many don't know the basics of saving money and money management," said Blasiak. "National Teach Children to Save Day starts kids off on the right path to saving for their future."

Sponsored by the American Bankers Association Education Foundation (ABAEF), National Teach Children to Save Day is a day when bankers make presentations in schools across the country to students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

On April 10, U.S. Bank employees will teach children about money and savings, covering topics such as budgeting, the difference between needs and wants, why it's important to save for emergencies and how interest makes money grow. Students will have an opportunity to apply concepts and practices through games and other hands-on activities.
