ROSSVILLE, Ohio, Feb 5, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Construction will begin later this month on U.S. Bank's new office in Rossville, which will be located just east of its existing building at 560 Main Street. Once completed, the current branch will be torn down to make room for a new Walgreen's store at the corner of Main and Eaton.

Rick Demmel, U.S. Bank regional president, said that the existing bank would remain open and its drive thru and office hours will remain the same for customers during the construction process, which will involve the removal of three buildings later this week that are currently located next to the branch. After the three parcels are cleared by the end of the month, construction of the new branch will begin and should be complete by spring.

"Our customers will find that our new facility will more efficiently meet their banking needs," said Demmel. The new, full-service U.S. Bank facility will feature two attached drive-thru lanes as well as a lane for ATM and night deposit services.

Demmel explained that once the new 2,500 square foot U.S. Bank branch is completed, construction will then begin on a new 14,000 square foot Walgreens store where the existing branch is today. "This is an exciting time for all as we will be playing a part in the future development of our community. Our moving will allow the building of another Fortune 500 company to our city that will create new jobs."
