U.S. Bank Honors Local Non-Profit Organizations

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec 18, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bank honored non-profit organizations in Oregon and southwest Washington with a special luncheon in November that recognized all of the groups that received U.S. Bancorp Foundation grants in 2002.

A total of 195 organizations received more than $2 million in grant dollars from the U.S. Bancorp Foundation in 2002. The event was attended by more than 160 people, which included representatives of U.S. Bank as well as organizations in Albany, Ashland, Astoria, Beaverton, Bend, Central Point, Coos Bay, Corvallis, Eugene, Grants Pass, Hillsboro, Hood River, Jacksonville, Klamath Falls, Lake Oswego, La Pine, Lebanon, Medford, Monmouth, Newport, Ontario, Portland, Rainier, Redmond, Roseburg, Salem, Sisters, Springfield, The Dalles, Tigard, Vancouver, Williams, and Woodburn.

Joseph Otting, president of U.S. Bank in Oregon, welcomed the group, as did Linda Wright, vice president of community relations and Barbara Smith, vice president of community investment at U.S. Bank. The group then heard a keynote address by Martha Richards with the Collins Group, who spoke on the timely subject of current trends in fundraising.
