U.S. Bank's David Bartram Receives Small Business Distinguished Service Award

SAN DIEGO, Dec 13, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- David Bartram, president of U.S. Bank SBA Division based in San Diego, has received the annual Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) for 2002.

The award was announced at NAGGL's recent annual meeting and received a standing ovation in recognition of Bartram's "countless hours of time and dedicated service to the small business community during 2002."

Bartram, who is a director on the NAGGL board, implemented an extensive and comprehensive grassroots governmental relations program that included many U.S. Bank employees and other lenders. The effort resulted in increased awareness of the benefits of the 7-a program among United States policy makers during 2002.

"SBA loans are an integral part of what we offer our small business customers and the work that Dave does on a national level is tremendously important to small businesses everywhere," said Kent Stone, executive vice president of small business at U.S. Bank. "We're proud of Dave, proud of his accomplishments and the great work that's done by his team every day."

NAGGL is a national trade association that serves approximately 580 bankers, non-bank lenders and other firms that utilize the Small Business Administration (SBA) 7-a small business lending program.
