U.S. Bank and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) have joined forces to sponsor seminars and one-on-one meetings with small businesses at the California Hispanic Chamber annual meeting in Sacramento, Calif., Aug. 1-3.

Conference participants will have the opportunity to learn the best strategies for gaining access to funding at the Access to Capital workshops on Friday, Aug. 2, sponsored by the SBA and U.S. Bank. Following the sessions, U.S. Bank representatives will meet with prospective loan applicants from 1:30 to 7 p.m. Walk-in appointments are available, and small businesses may submit loan materials on-site.

The sponsorship is representative of U.S. Bank's overall commitment to become the best bank in America for Hispanics. As part of U.S. Bank's sponsorship, participants will have the opportunity to submit bids on U.S. Bank contracts. Representatives from the bank's procurement division will meet with prospective vendors, as part of the bank's commitment to choosing minority- and women-owned businesses as its suppliers.

Participants will also have a chance to meet with representatives of U.S. Bank's merchant card, home loan and leasing divisions at the conference, and will receive U.S. Bank tote bags to carry their materials. They will also see U.S. Bank as the primary sponsor of the Hispanas Organized for Political Equality-Political Action Committee (HOPE PAC) luncheon on Friday, Aug. 2.

Hispanic businesses are of tremendous importance to U.S. Bank in a number of ways, said Alex Amaya, branch manager at the West Sacramento office of U.S. Bank.
