U.S. Bank Spurs Business Social Networking with "Look Up With Us" Challenge

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct 18, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

U.S. Bank is offering small business owners an innovative way to network with other small business owners while also giving away $15,000 as part of the "Look Up With US" challenge. The challenge brings small businesses together through U.S. Bank's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/usbank, where participants can vote for their favorite success story, learn best practices, and get to know other small business owners around the country.

"We hope the challenge will draw inspiring stories from business owners who are finding ways to succeed despite the tough economic climate," said Kent Stone, executive vice president of consumer banking at U.S. Bank. "One winner will be chosen by other small-business owners who serve on a U.S. Bank panel. Another winner will be chosen through random drawing, and a third by popular vote within the app."

To enter the challenge, business owners launch the "Look Up With US" app on Facebook and describe why their business is looking up. Their answer and their business becomes part of a mosaic-like display on U.S. Bank's Facebook page. Viewers can read each answer, vote on their favorites and even leave comments underneath the entries. The more votes an answer gets, the bigger that business' tile becomes in the mosaic.

The challenge is open to any business in the United States with annual revenues less than $10 million. The challenge ends Tuesday, Nov. 15.
