Milwaukee's U.S. Bank Plaza Becomes Patriotic Beacon July 2-3-4
Red, White and Blue Lights Showcase U.S. Bank's Spectacular July 3 Fireworks Show

MILWAUKEE, Jul 02, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

U.S. Bank Plaza, the tallest building in Wisconsin, will become a bright beacon of red, white and blue light the first weekend of July. The patriotic light display is part of U.S. Bank's spectacular July 3 fireworks celebration.

Beginning Friday, July 2, from 8 p.m. (CDT) until 1 a.m., Saturday, July 3, from 9 p.m. until midnight and Sunday, July 4, from 8:00 p.m. until midnight, six, 4,000-watt xenon white lights will illuminate the sky above U.S. Bank's 42-story regional headquarters at 777 E. Wisconsin Avenue. The observation deck in the U.S. Bank building will also host 24, high output LED color-changing red, white and blue lights. According to Bill Bertha, U.S. Bank Wisconsin market president, the light show, set up by New Berlin's Exciting Events, should be able to be seen on a clear night from miles away in adjacent counties.

"This virtual display highlights our city which really shines during the summer months," said Bertha. "It also showcases our annual fireworks show noted by enthusiasts as the biggest and best in the Midwest."

U.S. Bank has hosted Milwaukee's fireworks as a way to celebrate America's birthday for more than 35 years, and last drew more than 800,000 people to the Lakefront party. This year, Bartolotta's Fireworks Company will ignite about 7,000 shells in the hour-long, July 3 U.S. Bank Eve Fireworks display, which begins at dusk (approximately 9:25 p.m. CDT) at Veterans Park and various locations throughout Milwaukee's Lakefront. The display will be synchronized to a musical melody that will air on 94.5 Lake FM. Channel Fox 6 WITI-TV will also broadcast the display live. In case of heavy rain, fog or severe weather, the U.S. Bank Fireworks will be rescheduled to Sunday, July 4th at 9:25 p.m. CDT.
