U.S. Bank Opens Office in Children's Memorial Hospital to Cater to it's 3,800 Employees

CHICAGO, (Mar. 25, 2010) – U.S. Bank has opened a new, full-service office inside Children’s Memorial Hospital, located at 2300 N. Lincoln Avenue in Chicago, giving its employees access to U.S. Bank’s wide range of banking services such as checking and savings accounts, loans, credit cards, mortgages and investments.

The full-service branch, located on the main floor, adjacent to the lobby, is designed to allow the 1,100 pediatric specialists and 2,700 additional staff members to complete more complex banking services at their workplace than what can be offered through a more typical on-site workplace channel, such as an ATM.

U.S. Bank, which currently has 57 Chicago area locations and will have 80 locations once its acquisition of Park National Bank and Community Bank of Lemont is complete this May, has the nation’s largest convenience banking network. Nearly one-third of its total banking offices across 25 states are located in non-traditional locations, including 727 grocery stores, such as Dominick’s and Meijer in the Chicagoland area U.S. Bank also has more than 60 branches offices located at corporate campuses, universities, airports, and hospitals.

Lynn M. Rosinsky, market president of U.S. Bank in Chicago, “Setting up non-traditional sites and offering a workplace banking program has been an effective way for U.S. Bank to grow in the Chicago area. “It’s not just handing out free checking accounts or offering a better rate on a loan or CD. We are available to help employees find solutions to everything from how they can save up for a home, pay for a car or college, or set up a retirement plan strategy.”

Morley Kerschner at Children’s Memorial, said, “This full-service bank will be very useful to our employees. Also, offering convenient services like this can help in attracting and retaining high quality co-workers.”

Dan Hoke, U.S. Bank, senior vice president and division manager for U.S. Bank’s onsite banking, explained that, through U.S. Bank’s workplace banking program, Children’s Memorial employees will be offered everything from free checking and savings accounts to reduced rates on mortgage and car loans to employee seminars on long-term insurance, investments and retirement savings. U.S. Bank also offers an on-site ATM that is available 24 hours for employees.

Bank manager Bonnie Kahn, who has worked at U.S. Bank for 22 years, will oversee the Children’s Memorial branch. U.S. Bank also has offices nearby at 1953 North Clybourn Avenue and in the 2550 North Clybourn Dominick's store.

U.S. Bank’s hours at the Children’s Memorial are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm and on Thursday from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm. U.S. Bank customers can also access their accounts 24 hours a day by telephone, the Internet or the on-site ATM, which provides cash, phone minutes, forever postage stamps and other convenient transactions.

U.S. Bank also recently unveiled a new “Mobile Wallet” application for people on the go who want to use their phone to help them keep track of their account balance, review transaction history, transfer funds between accounts and check rewards balances. In addition, through usbank.com's online banking, customers can also receive a text or email should their account fall below a designated amount.

Children’s Memorial is the only freestanding hospital exclusively for kids and has been ranked #1 in almost every major pediatric specialty. It has approximately 1,100 pediatric specialists in more than 70 specialties, and totals 3,800 employees. In 2008, the hospital had approximately 500,000 inpatient and outpatient encounters from 32 countries and all 50 states.
