U.S. Bank Cardholders 'Get Ahead in 2010' with a Chance to Win up to $10,000
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan 25, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- U.S. Bank is giving cardholders a chance to win up to $10,000 every time they use their registered eligible U.S. Bank Visa credit or check card.

Small business and consumer U.S. Bank Visa credit and check cardholders can "Get Ahead" by registering to win a randomly-drawn $10,000 prize or a $500 weekly prize at usbank.com/getaheadin2010. Cardholders also have the opportunity to earn an additional $5,000. They just need to visit usbank.com/getaheadin2010 and submit a story on how they would use $5,000 to "Get Ahead in 2010." Then, they encourage their friends, family and colleagues to go to the site and vote on their story. Cardholders will also be able to share their story with friends via Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or via email. The story with the most total votes at the end of the contest period will win the $5,000 Get Ahead in 2010 prize.

"We're excited to give our cardholders this opportunity to get a jump-start on making 2010 a year to remember," said Cliff Cook, chief marketing officer for U.S. Bank Retail Payment Solutions. "The social media aspect of this promotion also gives cardholders a fun and interactive way to participate by sharing their ideas and engaging their online social network to help them win."

The promotion started on Jan. 15, 2010and runs through Feb. 28, 2010. The first week of the promotion has already driven a huge response from customers who have registered for the sweepstakes and entered their stories. Two sets of prizes will be awarded - one for small business and one for consumer cardholders. Six randomly-drawn weekly prize winners will also receive $500 each, from entries earned by using their eligible and registered U.S. Bank Visa credit or check card.
