Elavon is First Acquirer to Broadly Market the American Express OnePoint Program Through Third-Party Sales Channels
ATLANTA, Mar 03, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Elavon, a wholly owned subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB), today is the first acquirer to commercially market the American Express (NYSE:AXP) OnePointsm program to its third party sales channels, including Merchant Service Providers (MSP's) and Agent Banks. Elavon performs all set up, processing, settlement, funding, customer support and reporting for eligible American Express acceptance, thereby providing merchants with one processing relationship for all major card brands. Elavon also offers OnePoint to merchants in its direct sales and alliance bank referral channels.

"The new American Express OnePoint program available from Elavon is fantastic and comes when we need it most," said Steve Volz, National Sales Manager for Banc Card of America, Inc., an Elavon MSP. "One statement and one point of contact for customer service will give us a competitive advantage. Valuable programs like this are one of the main reasons Banc Card of America has partnered with Elavon since 1997."

Through the OnePoint program, Elavon and its third-party sales channels will have the ability to offer American Express(R) Card acceptance to thousands of new small and mid-size U.S. merchants meeting defined processing parameters. The program is also open to bank-card accepting merchants that wish to add American Express Card acceptance and benefit from a single point of contact for their processing needs.

"Elavon continually strives to deliver a competitive advantage to our channel partners and their clients," said Stuart C. Harvey, Jr., CEO of Elavon. "The ability to include American Express Card processing in our merchant services package eliminates the complexities businesses face when dealing with multiple providers and expands payment choices for consumers, while providing our MSPs with a valuable competitive edge."
