MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2008--U.S. Bank's 13th annual Internet scholarship program is now
accepting applications. Eligible high school seniors can now go online
to access this source of college scholarship dollars at www.usbank.com/studentbanking.
The U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship program, available only via U.S.
Bank's web site, will award up to 30 college scholarships valued at
$1,000 each to graduates of the high school class of 2009. Scholarship
awards for the past 12 years total more than $320,000.
"With a weakened economy and tightened family budgets, a $1,000
scholarship from U.S. Bank is more important than ever," said Beth
Dinndorf, senior vice president and manager of U.S. Bank Student
Banking. "Students and parents can use U.S. Bank's powerful search
engine found at www.usbank.com/studentbanking
to locate many scholarship programs. As a leader in providing student
loans for more than 40 years, U.S. Bank is committed to helping students
and families achieve their higher education goals."
The U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program application is available
exclusively via the Internet between now and February 28, 2009. Internet
access is available at most high schools and public libraries at no
charge.
Scholarship award recipients are selected through a random drawing
process. Students who plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year
college in the fall of 2009 in a full-time course of study are eligible
to apply. They must also be a United States citizen or permanent
resident alien, and graduate from high school during the 2008-2009
academic year. Visit the web site at www.usbank.com/studentbanking
