U.S. Bancorp Honors Outstanding Employee Volunteerism With Third Annual Five Star Volunteer Awards

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20, 2007--U.S. Bancorp, the parent company of U.S. Bank, continues its dedication to the communities it serves by supporting nonprofit organizations, and encouraging and rewarding the extraordinary volunteer work of its 53,000 employees with the third annual U.S. Bank Five Star Volunteer Award program.

U.S. Bancorp will recognize more than 100 employees who provide exceptional volunteer service to a nonprofit organization in their community. In addition to company recognition, U.S. Bancorp will award the nonprofit up to $1,000 in honor of the employee. The U.S. Bank Five Star Volunteer Award winners will be announced fourth quarter of 2007.

"U.S. Bancorp is a strong community partner, so it's essential that we support the volunteer work of our employees and the nonprofit organizations they care about the most," said Deborah Burke, director of the U.S. Bancorp Foundation.

U.S. Bancorp has a long-standing record of community leadership in the key areas of affordable housing, economic opportunity, arts and culture, education and community service. The company received the highest rating possible from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in 2006 for its commitment to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), meeting the credit needs of all segments of the communities that U.S. Bancorp serves.

U.S. Bank Five Star Volunteer Award nominations may be made by a U.S. Bancorp employee or by a nonprofit organization. To request a nomination form, send an e-mail to: fivestarvolunteer@usbank.com. The 2007 nomination deadline is Friday, October 12.
