U.S. Bank Creates 70 Jobs in Downtown Eau Claire as It Opens New Call Center This Fall

EAU CLAIRE, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 10, 2007--U.S. Bank officially announced today that it will create up to 70 new jobs when it opens a new downtown Eau Claire call center in late September on the second floor of U.S. Bank's main office at 131 South Barstow.

"We're thrilled to bring 70 great jobs to this community, and to assist in Eau Claire's downtown revitalization efforts," said Darin McFadden, U.S. Bank Eau Claire market president. "I think it says a lot about the quality of our hard-working and committed employee base here in the Chippewa Valley and the importance of the Eau Claire market going forward."

U.S. Bank currently employs more than 1,000 people at its five 24-hour retail call centers located throughout the United States in St. Paul, Minnesota; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Cincinnati, Ohio; Denver, Colorado; and Portland, Oregon. "Expanding our call center resources is indicative of U.S. Bank's growth nationwide and allows us to continue delivering Five Star Service through this popular delivery channel. Also, bringing these jobs to Eau Claire aligns with our strategy of answering the increasing number of calls we receive from our customers on American soil, rather than outsourcing them overseas," said McFadden.

"The announcement of this call center is yet another important milestone in U.S. Bank's 135-year history in Eau Claire. By leveraging our existing facility at 131 Barstow, we'll be able to set up operations quickly and cost effectively while attracting local employees who are interested in an opportunity to grow and to be challenged." McFadden continued, "We will have many practical and flexible work schedule openings that offer competitive base salaries, incentive opportunities and a comprehensive package of benefits that includes health, life and dental insurance."

The Eau Claire Call Center will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until noon, with a rotating holiday schedule that is shared with other call centers.

McFadden said that U.S. Bank has seen many banking careers start in the call center. "For college students and at- home parents who are looking to return to the work force, our call centers give valuable customer service training that they can leverage throughout their career at U.S. Bank."

The bank is planning to have a job fair at the Ramada Inn in downtown Eau Claire on August 24 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on August 25 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Those interested in learning more about the call center and available positions should visit the job fair and apply online at www.usbank.com/careers.

U.S. Bank has five full-service banking offices in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls and each offers a comprehensive line of banking, brokerage, insurance, investment, mortgage, trust and payment services products to consumers, businesses and institutions. U.S. Bank is located at 4640 Golf Road, 1535 West Hamilton Avenue, 5700 Old Mill Plaza and 131 South Barstow in Eau Claire, and 1660 County Highway J in Chippewa Falls.
