MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 18, 2007--A U.S. Bank employee
has been honored by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Gailen
Veurink, chief operations officer and senior vice president for U.S.
Bank Retail Payment Solutions, was named one of the Business Journal's
40 Under Forty honorees for 2007. Veurink and the other honorees were
recognized during an awards reception at the Minneapolis Club in
downtown Minneapolis on May 17. All honorees are featured in the 40
Under Forty special publication in the Friday, May 18 edition of the
Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
The 40 Under Forty award is bestowed upon 40 honorees based on
their professional accomplishments, demonstrated leadership and
community contributions.
Veurink's group supports U.S. Bank's consumer, small business and
corporate credit card businesses as well as its debit card business.
His operational responsibilities include functions such as
underwriting, customer service, disputes, fraud management,
collections, integration and card issuance. Veurink's area is
responsible for millions of customer interactions every month through
various channels.

Veurink has been with U.S. Bank in various leadership roles since
1999. Prior to his employment at U.S. Bank, he spent approximately ten
years in the card industry with Citibank.
Veurink is active in the community as a volunteer coach of a YMCA
basketball team and with activities at his children's school. Veurink
has been involved in various leadership capacities at his church,
Bridgewood Church in Savage, Minnesota, and supports the Greater Twin
Cities United Way.
Veurink received his Bachelor of Arts degree in business
administration from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. He resides in
Savage, Minnesota, with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children.
