Hanno C. Fiedler was elected to Ball Corporation’s board of directors in December 2002. At the end of 2005, Mr. Fiedler retired as chairman and chief executive officer, Ball Packaging Europe. He now serves as chairman of the Ball Packaging Europe Supervisory Board.
Mr. Fiedler joined Ball in 2002 with the acquisition of Schmalbach-Lubeca AG, headquartered in Ratingen, Germany. He had been chairman of the board and CEO of Schmalbach-Lubeca AG since 1996. Prior to that, he had spent nearly 25 years at TRW-Incorporated in various domestic and international roles in Germany, the United States, Great Britain, France, South and Eastern Europe and Asia. His responsibilities included vice president and general manager Europe, TRW Steering and Suspension Systems, Europe, Düsseldorf, Germany.
Mr. Fiedler is chairman of the supervisory board for manroland AG and vice chairman of the supervisory board of Pfleiderer AG. He is a member of the board of Dresdner Bank AG and past director of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG and Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft AG.
Mr. Fiedler received his master’s degree in economics from Freie Universität, Berlin in 1970 and an MBA from INSEAD Fontainebleau, France, in 1971.
