Where we are around the world
Cathy Ross joined Ball Corporation’s board of directors in 2017. She is retired chief financial officer and executive vice president, FedEx Express. During her 30 years with FedEx, Ms. Ross held responsibility for the company’s worldwide financial affairs, including financial planning, reporting and analysis, accounting and controls, as well as long-range strategic planning.
In addition to her directorship with Ball, Ms. Ross serves on the board of directors for Steelcase, Inc., a global office furniture, architectural and technology products company, where she chairs the compensation committee and is a member of the audit committee. She is a director and audit committee member for Avon Products, Inc., a global manufacturer and marketer of beauty and related products. Additionally, Ms. Ross serves on boards for three Memphis organizations: The National Civil Rights Museum, The Child Advocacy Center and Christian Brothers University.
In 2013, Ms. Ross received the Black Enterprise Women of Power Legacy Award and was inducted into the University of Memphis Fogelman College of Business Hall of Fame. In 2012, she was named to the Black Enterprise Magazine list of the 100 Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America. Ms. Ross was twice awarded the Board Walk of Fame by CABLE, a professional organization dedicated to connecting women and opportunity. In 2007, she joined other notable women of achievement as a member of the Tennessee Women’s Forum and the International Women’s Forum. She received the Distinguished Alumna Award from the University of Memphis, the Memphis Tri-State Defender Women of Excellence Award, and was named one of the 25 Rising Women of Finance by JPMorgan Chase/Treasury and Risk Management.
A native of Henderson, Tennessee, Ms. Ross holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Memphis and a bachelor’s degree from Christian Brothers University in Memphis. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Delta Sigma Pi Professional Fraternity.
