|Stewart Stockdale Named Chief Marketing Officer of Simon Property Group and President of Simon Brand Ventures|

Stockdale has been named to the newly-created post of chief marketing officer of
Simon Property Group, Inc. and president of Simon Brand Ventures. As the chief
marketing officer, Stockdale will be responsible for all marketing related
businesses within Simon Property Group including Simon Brand Ventures, corporate
marketing, shopping center marketing, and Shopsimon.com.

Stockdale comes to Simon with extensive and impressive experience. Most recently, he was executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Conseco, Inc. He was the driving force behind Conseco's innovative 'Step Up' campaign which accelerated Conseco's brand awareness nationally. In 1998, the year Stockdale started at Conseco, national brand awareness for the company was eight percent. In three years, the figure zoomed to 66 percent. The 'Step Up' campaign earned several awards including best category commercial at the Cannes Festival. In 2002, the Financial Services Council of the Direct Marketing Association nominated Stockdale for Marketer of the Year.
Prior to joining Conseco, Stockdale was senior vice president of Global Marketing and Product Management at MasterCard International. He has also held senior positions with such multinational companies as American Express, Citibank, and Procter & Gamble. Stockdale received a BA in marketing from the University of Denver and completed the executive program at the University of Virginia.
