(NYSE: MMC), a global professional services firm providing advice in risk, strategy and human capital, today announced that two of its executives in its Marsh and Guy Carpenter subsidiaries have been named ‘Women to Watch’ by Business Insurancemagazine.

Marsh’s Caroline Woolley and Guy Carpenter’s Kathleen R. McCann are among only 25 insurance industry leaders honored in Business Insurance’s 2011 “Women to Watch” list. The program recognizes women doing exceptional work in the fields of risk management, benefits management, commercial insurance and related fields. Recipients were acknowledged today at the Women to Watch Leadership Workshop and Awards Luncheon. Mercer’s U.S. Region Leader Mindy Fox also spoke on issues facing the benefits industry in the year ahead as part of the event’s executive panel.

Ms. Woolley joined Marsh in 2006 and is the Property Practice Leader for Marsh in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Ms Woolley oversees all areas of property and business interruption, including placement. With a strong focus on product innovation, Ms Woolley has played a key role in delivering new products and services for clients in the areas of non-damage business interruption, natural catastrophe and property sustainability. She is also responsible for business interruption training internally and is the UK ambassador for Marsh’s in-house global training site, Marsh University.

Ms. McCann, Branch Manager of Guy Carpenter’s Boston office, is responsible for working with property and casualty clients to analyze their business portfolios and help them structure and place reinsurance programs that best meet their risk and capital management needs. She also chairs Guy Carpenter’s Women’s Employee Resource Group. Additionally, she serves on a steering committee within Marsh & McLennan Companies to raise funds for Plan International, which works to alleviate child poverty in developing countries, specifically in support of the group’s ‘Because I am a Girl’ initiative.
