NEW YORK, May 05, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (NYSE: MMC) announced today that Silvia Davi has joined the Company as Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications and Brand, effective May 2, 2011.

In this role, Ms. Davi oversees global corporate communications for Marsh & McLennan Companies, including public relations and internal communications, as well as branding. Reporting into Orlando Ashford, Chief Human Resources and Communications Officer, she will work closely with senior management while collaborating with the organization's four Operating Companies.

Ms. Davi joins Marsh & McLennan Companies from the NASDAQ OMX Group where she was Vice President of Corporate Communications and Global Broadcast Media Strategy. Ms. Davi joined NASDAQ in 2003 to oversee corporate communications for core business units and to establish public relations and brand campaigns for the NASDAQ MarketSite, the exchange's global flagship.

Before joining NASDAQ OMX, Ms. Davi spent time at Instinet Group as Director of Public Relations. Prior to that Ms. Davi held leadership positions with Edelman and Ogilvy Public Relations. In addition, Ms. Davi has served as an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University since 2008.
