| JoS. A. Bank Clothiers Reports 41% Increase in First Quarter Earnings Per Share |
HAMPSTEAD, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 11, 2007--JoS. A. Bank Clothiers, Inc. (Nasdaq Global Select Market: JOSB) announces that earnings for the first quarter of fiscal 2007 increased 41% to $0.45 per share, as compared to $0.32 per share for the first quarter of fiscal 2006. Net income in the first quarter of fiscal 2007 was $8.4 million, as compared to $5.9 million in the first quarter of 2006. The first quarter of fiscal 2007 ended May 5, 2007; the first quarter of fiscal 2006 ended April 29, 2006. Comparing the first quarter of fiscal 2007 with the first quarter of fiscal 2006, total net sales increased 13.9% to $129.5 million from $113.7 million; comparable store sales increased 3.8%; and Direct Marketing sales increased 20.9%.
