Tim Millwood Named Vice President – Purchasing

Columbus, Indiana – Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced that The selection and management of our supply base in purchasing is critical to achieving supply chain excellence to accelerate Cummins’ growth and profitability.  With a complex purchasing organization spread across the globe, developing and implementing strategies for sourcing materials and services from suppliers while managing their performance is a complicated scenario.  I am pleased to announce that Tim Millwood, who has lead the purchasing function since 2012, has been promoted to Vice President - Purchasing, effective April 1.

Tim joined Cummins in 1992 as a manufacturing engineer and has since provided leadership in engineering, manufacturing, general management and purchasing. Over the years, Tim served as a facilities and manufacturing engineering lead in the Cummins Engine Plant and as engineering manager in Cummins Recreational Marine Business in Charleston. Tim returned to Columbus in 2000 for his first purchasing position, serving as a sourcing manager. This was followed by roles as the director and purchasing leader for the Forgings, Block and Head, and Overhead & Power Cylinder sourcing teams and in 2004, Tim relocated to Brazil to lead Purchasing in Latin America.  Next Tim served as the plant manager for the Darlington Engine plant in the United Kingdom.  After the subsequent international assignments, roles followed as the General Manager of the Cummins Scania XPI joint venture and the Supply Chain leader for the Components Business before Tim was asked to return to lead Purchasing as Executive Director in 2012.

Tim has lead the function to achieve strong results in cost reduction and free cash flow while developing  key strategies for purchasing to help advance the supply chain transformation within Cummins.  Tim’s experience and leadership in this space and his ability to successfully collaborate with leadership across our Corporate, Business Unit and ABO teams will serve him well in his new role. As Vice President - Purchasing, Tim will continue these responsibilities as the CMI leader for all direct and indirect purchasing.

Tim holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and proudly and actively supports Cummins’ recruiting efforts at his alma mater. Tim and his wife Lauren have three children, Connor, Chase and Cathrine.  Outside of work and family Tim enjoys playing tennis, building and racing cars.

I am very pleased to recognize both the contribution of the Purchasing function and Tim’s leadership through this promotion.  Purchasing excellence and its integration with the other supply chain functions is critical to our Supply Chain transformation which is reinforced through this announcement.  Additionally, Tim’s commitment to leadership development and the core values of the company makes him an excellent officer and representative of Cummins.  About
