| American Science and Engineering, Inc. Receives $9.2 Million ZBV Order for a Latin American Customs Agency |

(NASDAQ: ASEI) (AS&E(R)), a leader in X-ray detection technology, announced today the receipt of an order for multiple Z Backscatter Vans(TM) (ZBV(TM)) for a Latin American customs agency. The order includes operator training, service, and warranty. Three of the systems will be configured with Forwardscatter(TM) capability.
