Monster Hosts First-Ever Innovation Day to Demonstrate Proprietary Recruitment Technology

Ground-Breaking Platform Helps Employers Bridge the Skills Gap

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 22, 2012-- Monster® (NYSE: MWW), the worldwide leader in connecting people to job opportunities and the flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc., is hosting the company’s first-ever Innovation Day to highlight emerging issues pertaining to the global skills gap and to introduce Monster’s innovative solutions to close the gap.

Monster, the only online recruiter operating on a global scale, has developed proprietary technologies to help match the top companies around the world with the right employees faster. Today, Monster is presenting a hands-on interactive showcase of its latest innovations.

“In a world where the global skills gap is growing at a relatively fast clip, technology will play an ever-increasing role in helping to match companies with the right skilled workers,” said Monster Worldwide Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Sal Iannuzzi. “Helping global companies find the ‘needle in the haystack’ is our main mission here at Monster.”

Dr. Robert Shiller, best-selling author and Arthur M. Okun Professor of Economics at Yale University, will keynote the event with a lecture on the global skills gap and matching theory titled, “Rise of the Phoenix: Future of the Global Labor Market, Matching Talent with Opportunity.” He will then address audience questions. Interested individuals can follow this conversation and the remainder of the event using #MWWInnovationDay.

Along with helping to illuminate the challenges presented by the global skills gap, Innovation Day seeks to provide insights into the role of semantic search in helping companies streamline their recruitment approach into an effective and cost-efficient process.

Attendees of Innovation Day will be given live demonstrations of the following proprietary products.

  • Career Ad Network®: Monster’s patent pending ad-network solution, the largest global recruitment-focused ad network which reaches 106 million active and passive users per month.
  • Power Resume Search: Monster’s proprietary 6Sense® Semantic Search Technology, Power Resume Search provides unrivaled candidate matches. 6Sense Semantic Search doesn’t just look for keywords—it “understands” concepts and context, and returns matches based on actual, relevant experience, skills, education and more.
  • SeeMore™: Monster’s new cloud-based talent management platform that gives recruiters unprecedented access to Monster’s proprietary search and analytics tools.
  • BeKnown: Monster’s professional networking app on Facebook® enables job-seekers to harness the power of their personal network to break open new career opportunities.
