NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2012-- Saks Fifth Avenue announces the launch of 9|15, an exclusive new collection that brings casual, runway-centric style to the adventurous and ambitious woman. The line’s debut follows the successful 2011 launch of the Saks Fifth Avenue Collection, and will be featured in the WEAR NOW area of Saks stores around the country.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION

The 9|15 name derives from Saks Fifth Avenue’s September 15 birthdate some 88 years ago. 9|15 also refers to the traditional timing of New York’s fashion week—a celebration of both spring shows and fall arrivals that has been the inspirational spirit behind the collection. The clothes are beautifully assembled from movement-friendly fabrics, with an eye on the woman who wants quality fashion without sacrificing comfort.

For its inaugural season, 9|15 embraces long and fluid shapes. Asymmetrical knits and vests drape casually over skinny cargos. Comforting pieces like stone-washed henleys are possessed of an artful ease: the ease of dressing, the ease of movement, the ease of life. The fabrics are soft and extraordinarily light, including superfine jersey, flax linen and featherweight cashmere.

Spring’s colors are natural and warm. Dusty mineral hues like amethyst and opal punctuate a palette of subdued neutrals like pavement, bamboo and stone. But for all the collection’s ease, there is also a feeling of movement and progress. Jackets made of parachute tencel and wrinkle-resistant memory tech fabric add a sense of sport, while decorative leather and pocket details contribute an element of high design.
