Lycoming Engines Donates $10,000 to Shepherd of the Streets
Donation Will Provide Medicine for Lycoming County Residents without Health Care

Williamsport, PA - October 9, 2008 - Lycoming Engines, an operating unit of Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced today that it has donated $10,000 to Shepherd of the Streets, a program sponsored by the United Churches of Lycoming County. This donation was made possible through the generous contributions of the company’s suppliers at the annual Lycoming Engines Supplier Conference.

According to Dr. J. Morris Smith, coordinator of Shepherd of the Streets, this contribution will be utilized to buy medicine for those in the Lycoming County community who are unable to afford health care. The group provides spiritual and material help — including health care, food, hygiene, utilities, and employment assistance — to the county’s disadvantaged.

“Shepherd of the Streets serves essential needs in our community,” says senior vice president and general manager of Lycoming Engines Ian Walsh. “As a longtime corporate member of the Lycoming County community, we are honored to support the group’s continuing efforts to help our neighbors.”
