Leading Animation Company Turns to Image for Digital and DVD Distribution in the U.S. and Canada

CHATSWORTH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 2008--Image Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: DISK), a leading independent licensee, producer and distributor of home entertainment programming in North America, announced today that it has signed a distribution agreement with BKN Home Entertainment Inc ("BKN"), a wholly owned American subsidiary of global animation company BKN International AG.

The agreement gives Image Entertainment an exclusive distribution arrangement for BKN's entire catalog consisting of more than 300 different episodes from more than 26 properties including "Legend of the Dragon," "Kong" and "Zorro - Generation Z." The agreement will also give Image an exclusive first-look at all new BKN content, and extend to all of BKN's high-definition content.

For each television series or feature title, Image will have all home video and digital rights for select titles.
