- Ryder to Manage Nestle Chile S.A. Distribution, Warehousing Operations and
Outbound Transportation to More Than 600 Customer Locations Throughout Chile -
MIAMI, March 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a
global leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions, today
announced it has been awarded a distribution and transportation management
contract with Nestle Chile S.A., a subsidiary of Nestle, the world's biggest
food and beverage company.

centralized operation with improved technology and visibility," said William
Beltran, Supply Chain Manager of Nestle Chile S.A. "Ryder's proven track
record in transportation and warehouse management will help us bring new
products to market faster and improve customer service."
Under the multi-year contract, Ryder will manage two multi-customer
distribution centers with a combined 400,000 square feet and 25,000 pallet
positions of finished products located in Maipu and Quilicura, Chile. Through
a turn-key solution, Ryder will manage the outbound transportation of
approximately 60 to 80 vehicle loads per day from the distribution centers to
more than 600 Nestle customer locations throughout Chile including
supermarkets, distributors and wholesalers. Utilizing a warehouse management
system and hand-held radio frequency equipment, Ryder's solution is designed
to optimize Nestle's inventory levels, improve order accuracy and efficiency,
while providing consistent levels of customer service. Ryder will also be
responsible for the management of regional operations facilities in
Antofagasta, Concepcion and Temuco, Chile.
