(NYSE: FLO) announced today that it has promoted Kirk L. Tolbert to vice
president and treasurer. Tolbert has been serving as treasurer since 2003.
Tolbert is responsible for Flowers' treasury services. This includes
banking relationships, cash management, real estate and equipment leasing
activities, commodity hedging execution, and insurance risk management. In
addition, he oversees the company's distributor note receivable portfolio and
share repurchase plan.

Tolbert joined Flowers in 1991 as an internal auditor. During his career
with Flowers, he has held a number of positions-financial accountant,
financial accounting manager, treasury services manager, and assistant
treasurer. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration/accounting
from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga.
