OG&E ranked no. 1 in nation for customer information in storms

For Immediate Release: August 5, 2005

OG&E customer satisfaction ranking among the most improved in J.D. Power survey

OG&E Electric Services leads the nation in providing customers with information during lengthy power outages such as those that can occur following severe storms, according to latest survey of electric utility customers by J.D. Power and Associates.

OG&E also ranks second-highest in overall customer satisfaction in the Southern U.S., according to the J.D. Power survey, which asked residential electric customers about power quality and reliability; company image; price and value; billing and payment and customer service.

Only Duke Power scored higher in the 15-state Southern region in overall customer satisfaction. OG&E scored well above average in all customer satisfaction categories compared to the dozens of other utilities in the Southern Region, which spans the South from Texas to Virginia.

“We are pleased to be recognized for high customer satisfaction by the people we serve,” said Steve Moore, chairman, president and CEO. “The Southern Region has by far the highest average customer satisfaction ratings, which means OG&E is among the best of the best.”

In addition to ranking first in the Southern Region in 2003 and second in 2005, OG&E ranks among the top 10 utilities for improving customer satisfaction since 1999, according to J.D. Power. Full results of the 2005 Electric Utility Residential Satisfaction Study are available at the J.D. Power website.

OG&E in recent years has increased its use of the company's website, (www.oge.com), for customer service and information, an area of specific focus in the J.D. Power survey. OG&E leads the nation by a wide margin in customer outage communications, thanks in part to System Watch™, a web-based, real-time outage news and information site.

OG&E serves 740,000 customers in a service area spanning 30,000 square miles in Oklahoma and western Arkansas. OG&E is a subsidiary of OGE Energy Corp. (NYSE: OGE), which also is the parent company of Enogex Inc., a natural gas pipeline business with principal operations in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Headquartered in Westlake Village, Calif., J.D. Power and Associates is a global marketing information services firm operating in business sectors including market research, forecasting, consulting, training and customer satisfaction.
