DALLAS, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Belo Corp. (NYSE: BLC) announced today that
Kim S. Besse has joined the Company as vice president/Human Resources
reporting to Marian Spitzberg, senior vice president/Human Resources,
effective October 1, 2008.
In making the announcement, Spitzberg said, "Recruiting and developing
capable management talent in today's challenging times is vital to Belo's
continued success. Kim's extensive background in human resources will prove

Besse has more than 25 years experience as a human resources executive,
most recently with Plano-based Perot Systems Corporation where she was vice
president/Human Resources responsible for the Company's worldwide human
resources strategy and execution. Prior to this, Besse served more than 20
years with ClubCorp in various human resources roles including executive vice
president/People Strategy and senior vice president/Human Resources.
