New online section aims to bring together entrepreneurs and aspiring
entrepreneurs
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 11, 2012--
The Hive, a new community on Boston.com, launched today as a
one-stop destination for news, information and resources on
Massachusetts’ innovation economy. The section, which can be found at www.boston.com/hive,
will explore technology, start-ups, the venture community and the
exciting growth of Boston’s innovation sectors through local reporting,
creative video series and a curated feed of the best news and ideas on
entrepreneurship from around the web.
“We’re going beyond the flash and hype to tell readers what’s real, what
matters and who’s creating sustainable businesses,” Hive editor Michael
Morisy said. “And we’re building a unique community - at a time when
Boston entrepreneurs are networking more than ever. Whether it’s a new
startup, established company or academic researchers working to bring a
product to market, we’ll uncover the most compelling stories and
highlight the very best business ideas.”
Morisy will also produce the Hive’s news stream, a curated, real-time
feed of news and ideas on innovation with contributions from local
entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and media outlets on the web and on
social media. The Hive will also feature contributions from Globe
reporters on innovation news ranging from aeronautics to X-rays.
Scott Kirsner, columnist and blogger for The Boston Globe and
Boston.com, will offer his popular “Innovation Economy” blog in the
section, exploring how innovations that matter come into the world. He
will also host a video series, “Entrepreneurs Grill,” in which startups
get ten minutes to pitch directly to investors on a live stream every
other Tuesday at noon. Another video series, “The Innovators,” will
delve into Boston startups with profiles on local companies every Monday.
