NEW YORK, Apr 07, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- NYTimes.com launched today "The
Moral of the Story" (www.nytimes.com/ethicist),
a new weekly online column of The
New York Times Magazine. Written by Randy Cohen, The Magazine's
Ethicist columnist, this new Tuesday column examines news stories from
an ethical perspective. Mr. Cohen will respond to readers' comments as
well on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
"So much of what is news each week has moral and ethical implications,
but there is very little analysis along these lines," said Gerald
Marzorati, editor, The New York Times Magazine. "Randy Cohen, the
Ethicist, will be examining moral behavior on the front-page with the
insight and wit that has made him famous as a columnist in The Magazine."
In addition, The
Moral of the Story will feature Randy Cohen's weekly podcasts and
access to The Ethicist's most recent Magazine columns.
Randy Cohen has been writing The
Ethicist column for The
New York Times Magazine since 1999. The column addresses moral
dilemmas submitted by readers; topics range from work-related issues to
family conflicts. His first professional work was writing humor pieces,
essays, and stories for newspapers and magazines. Mr. Cohen also wrote
for television, including "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" and "Late Night
with David Letterman," for which he won numerous Emmys.
Liberty Mutual is the advertising sponsor for the launch of The Moral of
the Story.
The New York Times Magazine is distributed in the Sunday New York Times,
