Tom Friedman, Bill Keller and Michael Kimmelman Among Times Speakers
NEW YORK, Jan. 28, 2013 – The New York Times’s annual Energy for Tomorrow conference will take place Thursday, April 25, beginning at 8 a.m. E.T. at TheTimesCenter.
This is the second conference in the Energy for Tomorrow series, which brings together thought leaders from various energy and environment industries to explore ways of fueling our evolving, global economy.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Building Sustainable Cities,” and conversations will cover issues critical to supporting our burgeoning worldwide urban population. Conference talks and debates will include harnessing local renewable energy resources, how to make traffic and transport more efficient and city planning for the next industrial revolution.
Energy for Tomorrow will be the first New York Times “for Tomorrow” conference of 2013. Like The Times’s education conferences Schools for Tomorrow, and economic conferences Opportunities for Tomorrow, the Energy for Tomorrow conversations will be anchored by New York Times journalists and rooted in The Times’s expansive journalism.
New York Times speakers and moderators at Energy for Tomorrow will include Op-Ed columnists Tom Friedman and Bill Keller, and architecture critic Michael Kimmelman.
The by-invitation-only event will be available to the public via live stream, which is free to view, at www.NYTEnergyforTomorrow.com.
Joining The New York Times is BlackBerry as presenting sponsor of the 2013 Energy for Tomorrow conference.
