| Standex Reports Sale of Two Units |
| SALEM, NH, January 19, 1999. . .Standex International Corporation (NYSE:SXI) reported the sale of
its SXI Technologies division in Gainesville Florida and the sale of its Christmas Tree
Stand product line located in West Springfield Massachusetts. Both of these units are
small and their dispositions will not materially impact Standex's reported results.
President and Chief Executive Officer, Edward J. Trainor, stated "The sales of these two units are part of the restructuring plan announced in June 1998. The plan called for the disposal or liquidation of some smaller business units or product lines allowing management to develop larger, more focused business units." Standex International Corporation, with sales for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1998 of $616 million and operations in the United States, Western Europe, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Mexico, is a multi-industry manufacturer in three broad business segments: Food Service, Industrial and Consumer. |
